Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Creating an Account

Go to the home page (www.gamersgold.com) and select the "Sign Up" button located in the top, right corner of the screen.

Bronze Account – This account is absolutely free. You earn points based on how long you play. The more you play, the more you earn. With this account you use your points to enter our various raffles. The more points you enter into a certain raffle, the better chance you have of winning!

Silver Account – This account costs $4.95/month. Why? Because you earn twice the amount of points as the Gold account.  You are still able to use your points to enter the various raffles but now you’re earning twice as many points and you have an even better chance of winning! Also, if you prefer to save up your points instead of entering them into the raffles, you can redeem your points for Visa Cash Cards.

Gold Account – This account costs $7.95/month. Why? This account has the same features as the Silver account plus you earn points for achievements as well. So you’re earning even more points each time you get an achievement.

Platinum Account – This account is $9.95/month. Why? This account has the same features as the Gold account plus you can wager points and compete against other Gamer’s Gold members. That means that if you’re playing a game with another Gamer’s Gold member, you can win their points or they can win yours. Just imagine the bragging rights if you end up with a 55inch flat screen using the points you won off of your friend!

The CVV or Card Verification Value is a 3 or 4 digit security code on your credit card. Please see the images below if you are unable to locate this code.

Logging In

Go to the home page (www.gamersgold.com) and select the Sign Up button located in the top, right corner of the screen.

The Facebook Register icon is part of Facebook Connect, the platform that allows users to “connect” their Facebook identity with partner websites. In simpler terms, it means that you can easily log in to Gamer’s Gold, access the Gamer’s Gold Facebook, and share with friends just with the click of a button. The icon says “Register” if you haven’t registered your Gamer’s Gold account with Facebook before and will say “Login” once you have registered the first time and from that point forward.

Under the Sign In button on the home page there is a link that says “Forgot your Gamer’s Gold password?” Selecting this link will prompt you to enter the email address associated with your account. Your password will then be reset and an email containing your temporary password will be sent to that email address. Log in using the temporary password.

Once you’ve  logged in with your temporary password and have been redirected to your My Account page you can change your temporary password by selecting the “Edit” link next to My Profile. Type your desired password in the Password field and type it again into the Confirm Password field. Then click Update. You will receive an email confirming that changes have been made to your account.

You are using incorrect log in credentials. Either your email address or password is incorrect. Check for possible spelling errors. Check to see if you have Caps Lock on mistakenly.  If you can’t remember your log in info then see What do I do if I forgot my log in credentials? for further instruction.

Check your SPAM folder. Please add memberservices@gamersgold.com to your address book to ensure that you receive emails regarding your account in the future.

If you don’t find the activation email there then check the activation page to be sure that you spelled your email address correctly.

Contact memberservices@gamersgold.com and they will assist you in activating your account.

My Account

First things first - log in to your Gamer’s Gold account. You will be automatically directed to your My Account profile page. Select the “Edit” link next to My Profile. You can edit any of the fields on that page, but be sure to click Update in order to save your changes. You will then receive an email confirming that changes have been made to your account.

During the first part of Beta, you will not have the ability to update your account on your own. If you decide that you want to upgrade from a Bronze account to a Silver account beofre the feature is available, you can email memberservices@gamersgold.com and we will take care if it for you.

These accounts are coming soon - don’t worry, we will notify you as soon as these features are available.

Are you sure about this? Deleting your account will permanently erase your accrued points. If you’re sure, then log in to your Gamer’s Gold account. You will be automatically directed to your My Account profile page. Select the “Edit” link next to My Profile. Select the link below the Update button called “Deactivate Account.” You will receive an email confirming that your account has been deleted.

Games

The executable is the “.exe” or the file that is capable of running that particular game. The executable can be found in your operating system’s task manager. It will look something like gametitle.exe. For example, the executable for World of Warcraft is WoW.exe and the executable for Angry Birds is angrybirds.exe - each game only has a single executable.

Run the game on your PC. Open your operating system’s task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Del) and look for the .exe for that game. It will look something like gametitle.exe.

PC games can be added relatively quickly - we should be able to add them within a few days of your submission. Facebook and browser games are a little more complicated since we have to contact the developer to get access to their games. If you want to help expedite the process, you can copy our template email here to send to the developer yourself to help nudge them along.

As many as you want! We want to know what you love playing so we can get you more points.

We’re working on it! You will be the first to know when we can track your progress on your Playstation, Xbox, and Wii. Oh and we’re planning on expanding to mobile games too.

Some games use the same executable, which is what we use to track your progress. Because of that, those games with the same executable all show up as “Steam Game.” These games include:

You can only earn points for 12 hours a day. We don’t want to limit what you can earn but we also don’t want to encourage our users to play for more than 12 hours a day. If you’re playing more than that, you need to unplug and go outside... now.

Rewards

We will email you. We will also post the winners on the Gamer’s Gold home page and on our Facebook and Twitter.

Yep. If you have enough points to reach each minimum you can enter multiple giveaways each month.

Nope. If you have the points, you can use as many as you want.
At the moment, no. But we will be adding that feature shortly.

Each month there will be various giveaways separated into point tiers. In order to enter you must submit the minimum amount of points for that giveaway. The lower-tier giveaways will have a lower minimum and the higher-tier giveaways will have a higher minimum. Once you have submitted the minimum you can increase your entries with each submission of 10% of the minimum.

Example: Let’s say you want to enter the Tier 1 - 250 point giveaway. You must submit at least the 250 point minimum to enter. You can increase your entries with every additional 25 points you submit. So if you want to be entered 3 times you would need to submit 300 points.

All users can use their points to enter our monthly giveaways. Silver Account users can also save up their points and redeem them for Visa Cash Cards if they don’t want to use them all in the monthly giveaways.
